Chauffeur agreement template

This agreement is made on [date] between [company legal name], located at [company address] (the Company), and [chauffeur full name], located at [chauffeur address] (the Chauffeur).

The Company operates a ground transportation business and engages the Chauffeur to provide driving services on the terms set out below.

The Chauffeur is engaged in the position of [position title, for example Chauffeur or Driver].

The Chauffeur will safely transport passengers and their belongings, follow assigned routes and schedules, keep the assigned vehicle clean and presentable, complete a trip sheet for each run, and report any incident, delay, or vehicle problem to [dispatch contact] without delay. The Chauffeur will follow the Company policies in effect from time to time.

The Chauffeur will be available to work [describe the schedule, for example set shifts, on-call hours, or per assignment].

Assignments will be communicated through [phone, app, or dispatch system], and the Chauffeur will confirm or decline each assignment by [notice period]. [State any minimum or maximum hours, and how time off is requested.]

The Company will pay the Chauffeur [rate, for example an hourly rate of $[amount] per hour, a per-trip rate of $[amount], or a commission of [percent] of the fare].

Payment will be made [weekly, biweekly, or monthly] by [payment method]. [State how wait time, overtime, deadhead miles, and cancellations are paid, if they apply.]

Gratuities left by passengers belong to the Chauffeur, unless a service charge is billed to the client, in which case [describe how the service charge is divided].

The Company will pass through gratuities collected on the Chauffeur's behalf on the next regular pay date. [State the policy for gratuities added to corporate or account invoices.]

The Chauffeur will operate [a Company-provided vehicle or the Chauffeur's own vehicle], described as [vehicle year, make, model, and plate].

The Chauffeur will not use alcohol or any impairing substance before or during a shift, will drive courteously and lawfully, and will treat every passenger with discretion and respect.

The Chauffeur must hold and maintain a valid [driver license class] and any [chauffeur permit, hackney license, or local endorsement] required to operate in [jurisdiction], and must keep a driving record acceptable to the Company's insurer.

The Chauffeur will provide current copies of all required licenses and will notify the Company immediately of any citation, suspension, or lapse.

The Chauffeur will keep confidential all passenger information, trip details, client lists, rates, and Company business information learned during the engagement, and will not share it with anyone outside the Company except as needed to perform the work or as required by law.

This obligation continues after the engagement ends.

Either party may end this agreement by giving [notice period] of written notice. The Company may end this agreement immediately for [cause, for example a safety violation, a lapsed license, or a serious breach of these terms].

On termination, the Chauffeur will return all Company property, and any final amounts owed will be settled on the next regular pay date, subject to applicable law.
